Bush Record on Civil Rights Enforcement
I think I should point this out to all of those who buy into Bush being a heartless bigot.
- First president ever to ban racial profiling
- Increased prosecutions of bias-motivated and color-of-law crimes
- Increased pattern & practice investigations into civil rights violations by law enforcement agencies
- Tripling human trafficking prosecutions
- Substantially more favorable resolutions for title vii plaintiffs before the equal opportunity employment commission
- Increased focus on equal employment opportunity
- Vigorously enforcing voting rights
- Doubling enforcement of laws protecting institutionalized persons
- The president’s "new freedom initiative" for the disabled
- Increased protection of civil rights in housing, lending, and public accommodation
- Increased attention to desegregation cases
But of course this is never enough for the liberals.
